Azerbaijan and Ireland face-off in a Group A clash in the FIFA World Cup 2022 European qualifiers, hoping for their respective first three points. The hosts are bottom of the group with just a single point on board from five fixtures while the visitors have two points from their five outings so far. Azerbaijan are already out of contention for qualification for the World Cup and will just play for pride and FIFA points. The hosts have lost every single one of their game in the campaign except for the one against Ireland. The two sides played out a 1-1 draw when Ireland was the home side. Azerbaijan’s defeats have come twice to Portugal and once each to Serbia and Luxembourg.
