Norway had a tough day in office in their last game, falling 8-0 to England in Group A of the UEFA Women’s Championship. They will be up against Austria in their third game, needing a win to advance. Both nations are on three points but based on a better goal difference, Austria are second and Norway third. Norway’s contest against England ended as a contest in the opening half after they conceded six times in the opening 41 minutes. They couldn’t replicate their performance against Northern Ireland, a 4-1 opening win and now they have to save all for this game. That was their first loss in seven matches and the first time they failed to score in eight matches. Norway have one clean sheet in their last five matches though they’ve scored two or more goals in four of their last five matches.

Austria’s last meeting with Norway was in 2016, in the UEFA Women’s Championship qualifiers. That game ended 2-2 leaving them winless against Norway in their five meetings. However, coming from a 2-0 win over Northern Ireland, and facing a battered Norway side, they will be confident of getting a first win. The win over Northern Ireland was Austria’s first in this competition and third in four matches. They have three clean sheets in the last four matches, and have only failed to score once in the last five matches. They opened their charge at this competition with a 1-0 loss to hosts England and registered an improved performance in the second, and here, they will target at least a draw to sail through.
