Brazilian Serie A outfit Atletico Mineiro are set to host Boca Juniors of Argentina in the second leg of their round of 16 tie in the Copa Libertadores. The first leg at the La Bombonera in Buenos Aires finished goalless and as such, both teams are in with an equal chance of progressing to the next round.

Atletico Mineiro qualified for the knockout rounds of the competition in spectacular fashion. No team performed better than them across all eight groups as Cuca’s men finished with five wins and one draw, notching up 16 points without tasting defeat in Group H. Atletico Mineiro also conceded the joint second-fewest goals in the group stages and netted 15 goals in their six games.

On the other hand, Boca Juniors finished second behind Barcelona SC in Group C with three wins and a draw that contributed to their 10 points. However, they conceded the joint fewest goals in the competition and have proved to be a difficult side to break down in the competition. The story was far from dissimilar in the first leg as well, with Atletico Mineiro dominating possession but mustering two fewer shots on target compared to Boca Juniors.

The teams are expected to fight tooth and nail to try and progress to the next round. With the game all square, the margin for error is minimal for both sides as well.
