Sunday’s MLB action caps off with the game of the weekend as the Dodgers take on the Braves in a rematch of the 2021 NLCS. Bragging rights will certainly be on the line for both teams with the series tied up at 1-1 heading into the third and final game with this also being the last time these two clubs face off in the regular season. Atlanta was able to bounce back after dropping the first game of the series with a two run eighth inning to secure a 5-3 win in game two. The defending champions record of 42-31 puts them second in the NL East and they still find themselves trailing the New York Mets who hold a five game lead. The visiting Dodgers lead their division with the second best record in the National League at 44-26 but are involved in a tight race with the Padres, who have closed the gap to only one game.

The Dodgers send out Tony Gonsolin to the mound with the fourth-year starter in the middle of what looks to be a breakout season. The righty has a 9-0 record and an outrageous 1.58 ERA through 13 starts. Gonsolin went five innings in his last outing, giving up two home runs, three hits and striking out four in what ultimately resulted in a 8-2 Dodgers win. It was the fifth win in a row for Los Angeles when Gonsolin gets the start and they have a total record of 10-3 this season with the 28-year-old on the hill. LA will face off against second-year starter Spencer Strider who is making only his sixth start of the season. The 23-year-old had a rough outing in his last start, giving up six earned runs on six hits and making through only three innings before getting yanked.
