Dean Smith and Aston Villa have been pulled into a relegation scrap in recent weeks with four straight losses including a damaging 3-1 loss at home to Southampton last weekend with the Saints overtaking Villa and leaving them 18th and in the drop zone on 15 points. Norwich are 19th on 12 points and lost 2-1 to Wolves last time out despite being ahead at half-time. This game will go a long way in seeing whether or not Villa are relegation candidates which I believe they are. Tyrone Mings has been absent this last fortnight and now John McGinn looks set for a lengthy spell on the side-line and unlike Southampton above them and Norwich just behind them Villa have been struggling to score goals. 11 of the home side’s points tally have come at Villa Park while Norwich have struggled on the road with just five points and one win away from home. In the reverse fixture Villa were 5-1 winners at Carrow Road with Wesley netting a brace on that occasion and he will need to start scoring goals again if Villa are to get out of trouble.
