Argentina had an almighty struggle to get through to these World Cup finals and are already finding life hard in their group. They haven't failed to get out of their group since the 2002 World Cup but there's a real possibility that could happen again if they don't get a win over Croatia. Argentina led Iceland 1-0 in their opening fixture but were pegged back minutes after getting that opening goal. Lionel Messi missed a second-half penalty and they ended up with a disappointing 1-1 draw. They had plenty of possession against Iceland but just couldn't convert their chances with Messi being uncharacteristically wasteful in front of goal. They have to improve their shooting if they want to get a win against Croatia.

The Croatian side had a far easier opening game as they took on a disappointing Nigeria side. They won 2-0 but it could have been a lot more than that.and for all their pressure, it was only an own goal and a penalty that got them their goals. Life will be far more difficult against Argentina but they have won three of their last four matches and have recent wins over Mexico and Senegal, both who won their opening games in Russia. It's up front where they need to improve and they can't always depend on their midfielders. This should be a tight game and the bet here is to go for under 2.5 goals to be scored in the match.
