First-placed Argentina play host to sixth-placed Colombia at Estadio Mas Monumental in the 16th round of the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers. Here's our match prediction. 

Argentina have already qualified for the upcoming 2026 World Cup with three games remaining in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers. They sit atop the table with a ten-point cushion. 

La Selección heads into this match after seeing off the threat of Chile in a 1-0 away victory. Julian Alvarez scored the only goal in that match to extend his team's winning streak in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying to four games. 

Home form has been key to their success in this competition. In fact, they have won nine straight competitive matches across all competitions since a 2-0 defeat against Uruguay in November 2023.

The panic button has already been pressed, with Colombia now at risk of losing their direct qualification spot in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying. They have maintained a three-point cushion over seventh-placed Venezuela heading into this clash. 

Los Cafeteros were unfortunate not to have snatched all three points in a goalless draw against Peru in their recent qualifying match. They registered 15 total shots, but none of those shots were able to find the target.
