The qualifier Antonia Ruzic has made it to the quarter-finals in Monterrey, where she will battle the unseeded Marie Bouzkova. This is their first career meeting, and the winner will play Linda Noskova or Ekaterina Alexandrova for a place in the final. Read on for our prediction of this match.

Antonia Ruzic is having quite the debut campaign in Monterrey. The Croatian has won four matches in Nuevo Leon after beginning her campaign in the qualifying rounds.

Ruzic shocked eighth seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets in the first round before eliminating Elisabetta Cocciaretto via a decider last time out. She has now improved to 38-20 and shot up a massive 21 places to 68th in the live ranking.

Ruzic, who has won two ITF titles this season, is seeking a first tour semi-final appearance.

Marie Bouzkova has been to this round before in Monterrey. She lost in 2022, but two years prior, she won on her way to finishing as a runner-up.

Returning to the tournament after a two-year hiatus, Bouzkova, who is in exceptional form, defeated fourth seed Beatriz Haddad Maia. She won the tie in straight sets to register win number nine in her last 10 outings.

A finalist in Prague three weeks ago, Bouzkova has won 25 of 40 matches and has moved back into the WTA’s world top 50.
