Last season saw Anderlecht get off to a flying start with four straight wins and 13 goals scored. Five of those goals came in their second game of the season with a 5-2 victory over Oostende with Ivan Santini getting a hat-trick. Their season didn't go so well and they finished the main season in fourth place, 12 points behind the leaders. That took them into the Championship Group where they won one out of ten games and finished last. Pre-season friendlies have produced three wins, a draw and two defeats. They managed to beat Portuguese champions Benfica 2-1 so they look in decent nick. Anderlecht only lost one home game in the main season last year.

Oostende finished the main season with only two teams below them. Only six of their 30 league games were won and just two of those came on their travels. They lost twice in the league to Anderlecht last season and haven't had an away win against them since 2005. Their pre-season has been the model of inconsistency with a couple of wins, two draws and two losses. Away form isn't great either and this looks booked for another home win for Anderlecht.
