Arguably, the pick of the matchday 40 fixtures in La Liga 2 will see Almeria hosting Racing Santander at UD Almeria Stadium on Sunday. Los Rojiblancos are sixth in the league standings, while Los Verdiblancos are fourth. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Almeria are hoping to return to the top flight at the first time of asking, but they still have work to do to secure a playoff spot, currently just three points ahead of seventh-placed Granada. 

Los Rojiblancos suffered a 3-0 defeat to Cadiz in their last match, in which they had three players sent off and conceded twice in stoppage time to lose 2-1. 

At home, though, the hosts have been very good of late, currently on a five-match win streak and unbeaten in 17. Indeed, they have only lost one of their 19 home games this season. 

Meanwhile, Racing Santander are back in the Playoff equation and could still earn automatic promotion as they are currently trailing the top two by three points with three games still to play. 

Los Verdiblancos were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow promotion hopefuls Real Oviedo last week, and now have a record of four wins, three draws and three defeats in their last 10 league games. 

However, the visitors have found wins hard to come by on the road in recent times, managing just two in their last 12 games, while having lost three of their last four on the road.
