Algeria last won the African Cup of Nations back in 1990 but failed to make it out of the group stages at the last tournament. They qualified for this year's event by winning Group D but only by a point from Benin and lost two of their three away matches. They are in a group with leading fancies Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania and should have few problems qualifying for the knock-out stages. Algeria are in good form with an unbeaten run of six games. That record nearly went in their last game as they had to come from 1-0 and 2-1 down to beat Mali 3-2. They have an in-form player in Baghdad Bounedjah who has scored in each of his last three games. Algeria will also be looking for goals from Leicester City striker Islam Slimani who has 27 international goals.

Kenya are ranked 105th in the world (37 places below their opponents) and qualified by finishing second in Group F. They were behind Ghana but six points clear of Ethiopia (ranked 150th in the world) to qualify for the first time since 2004. They have never managed to make it out of the group stage in five attempts. Kenya have only lost one of their last six internationals but this game against Algeria looks tougher than recent opponents and the tip here is for an Algerian victory.
