Algeria vs Guinea Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

Algeria were ranked only three places above their opponents when this 2019 African Cup of Nations began. They are in much better form than Guinea and should be able to progress to the last eight. Algeria are undefeated in their last nine internationals with their last defeat being by Benin in October of last year. They were drawn in Group C and were expected to finish second behind leading fancies Senegal. Their campaign got off to a good start with a 2-0 win over Kenya with both goals coming in the first half. Then came the showdown with Senegal and they had a surprise 1-0 win over their rivals to clinch qualification with a game to spare. Their final group match saw them beat Tanzania 3-0 with two goals from Napoli's Adam Ounis.

It was a much harder route to the knock-out stages for Guinea. It's 43 years since they reached the final of this tournament but they did make the last eight in 2015. They had gone five games without a win before their first group match. That soon became seven after they could only draw with surprise package Madagascar and lose to Nigeria. Guinea needed a win in their last fixture and their long wait for a victory ended as they defeated Burundi (who finished bottom with no points and no goals) 2-0 with both goals scored by Auxerre striker Mohamad Yattara. Algeria are clearly the better team on form and can win this match leading at both half and full time.
