The Ajax vs PSV rivalry will ignite once more on Saturday as these two teams face off for another edition of De Topper. Will de Godenzonen be able to slow down the seemingly unstoppable Boeren train? We’ve got a few predictions on this match that are sure to help you out!
PSV have been red-hot to start the season and have reeled off a perfect 10 wins from 10 so far. This has them already sitting eight points clear of second-place Ajax as we enter into matchday 11. Ajax, for their part, have had a fairly strong start with seven wins, one draw and one defeat. They do have a game in hand over PSV, meaning the gap could be reduced to five points.
Last season saw PSV take four points of a possible six against Ajax in the league. They romped to a 5-2 win on their home patch but were held to a 1-1 draw at the Johan Cruyff Arena. Will we see a repeat on Saturday?

Ajax - PSV Eindhoven: Form Analysis
Ajax have been clicking into top gear lately and they come into this key league fixture riding a five-match winning streak.
Most recently, the 36-time league champions secured an excellent 2-0 away win over Feyenoord thanks to two goals scored before the half hour mark. With a 3-0 win over Qarabag in the Europa League last week, the team has now gone on to win with a clean sheet in their last three straight.
Ajax have won seven of their eight home matches across all competitions, including all four in the league.
They’ll now be tasked with trying to slow down a rampaging PSV squad that leads the league in scoring and fewest goals conceded.
PSV have scored an incredible 35 goals so far in the Eredivisie, 14 more than the next highest.
They’ve been somwhat tamed in the Champions League, however, as PSV have scored just three goals in three outings while collecting two points. PSV returned to league action following a 1-1 away draw with PSG last week to blast six goals past Zwolle in a 6-0 home win.
The result extended PSV’s unbeaten run to seven matches with the Rood-Written’s last defeat coming at the hands of Juventus in mid September.

Ajax will be without defender Gaston Avila who his ACL back in February and is still a few months away from a return. Sivert Mannsverk is also set to miss out here as the 22-year-old recovers from an ankle injury suffered in September.
They also could be without regular starter Kenneth Taylor who had to come off early in his team’s midweek win over Feyenoord.
Also in the treatment room are a trio of youngsters in Julian Rijkhoff, Kristian Hlynsson and Amourricho Van Axel-Dongen.

One of the reasons PSV have been so effective on the attacking side of the ball has been their balanced scoring. The visitors have no fewer than six players who have all chipped in at least three goals so far.
Manager Peter Bosz will be unable to call upon four players for his team’s trip to Amsterdam. USA international Sergiño Dest suffered an ACL tear at the end of April and will be out until 2025.
Mexican winger Hirving Lozano is dealing with a muscle injury and will miss out on his 10th consecutive game here. Also out are a pair of midfielders in Joey Veerman (groin) and Jerdy Schouten (hamstring).
