This weekend, a big clash in the Eredivisie sees Feyenoord travelling to the Johan Cruijff Arena for a top-of-the-table clash against Ajax. Clear at the summit by three points, Ajax have accumulated 38 points from 16 games. Feyenoord are their closest challengers in second place, only trailing by two points. Ajax recently look as though they have been feeling the pressure of the title race. They were heading for a third successive league draw in midweek before veteran forward Klaas Jan Huntelaar popped up to score twice in injury time, making a 3-1 win at Twente look more comfortable than it was. The home side has won four of their past six matches, which is good form by any measure. However, their defence has looked increasingly fragile with each outing. The reigning champions have not kept a clean sheet in any of their past five matches in all competitions. One of those games saw Ajax concede four goals to Utrecht in a cup game that they still managed to win.

Feyenoord makes the trip to Amsterdam on the back of four wins in five games. Each victory saw them keep a clean sheet. Only two wins from their last five away matches suggest that Feyenoord will struggle at Ajax. After all, they lost on their previous five visits to Ajax. On the other hand, the poor form of Ajax means they failed to win two of their past three home league matches. It may be the perfect time to play them. Or perhaps this challenge will inspire Ajax to get their act together. We think the latter. Ajax won four of their last five meetings against Feyenoord with a clean sheet.
