AC Milan vs Napoli Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A

Right after their 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Europa League AC Milan will return home to a home game against Napoli at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan. These two sides’ ambitions are not very wide apart. Hosts Milan are second in the standings and need three additional points on the 56 they have to close in on leaders Inter who are six ahead. Napoli hope to secure a Champions League slot. At the moment they are placed sixth with 47 points, three below the last Champions League slot. Milan are unbeaten in their last five matches ahead of this clash and one area they will need to improve on is in defence, having managed two clean sheets only in their last 12 matches. They lost leadership of the league to rivals Inter after a small slump but seem to be back on track, unbeaten in their last three league matches. The Rossoneri will go to this game with divided attention as they are in the middle of a Europa League tie but will hope they don’t get distracted. They won’t have top forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he is still injured but after conceding thrice at home to Inter, Atalanta and Juventus earlier, they’ll hope it doesn’t happen again here. A great home run is one of the major advantages Milan will have; they’ve lost just once in 13 home matches.

Napoli, on the other hand, are on a four match unbeaten run, having won three and drawn one. This season, they’ve lost to all top five sides except AS Roma. In November, they lost 3-1 to Milan and going to this game four of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals. They’ve scored at least two goals in their last five matches, totaling 12 but they’ve kept just one clean sheet in that period, conceding nine times. The team is now out of Europa League and can put all focus on Serie A and one area Gennaro Gatusso will want to focus on is in defence. Away from home, Napoli haven’t been at their best, being on a run of seven winless matches. After six losses on the road, they will be looking to build on the crazy 3-3 draw with Sassuolo in their last away match, which had an own goal and three penalties awarded, two in the final minute on either side.
