AC Milan remained top of Serie A after their 2-1 win at Sassuolo. They host eighth placed Lazio but may not be top when this game is played. Inter are only a point behind them and go to Verona earlier in the day. Milan will hope to make a quick start against Lazio, though it might take a bit to beat the six seconds it took them to go ahead at Sassuolo on Sunday. That win ended a run of two draws that has cut their lead at the top down to a single point. Milan are still unbeaten though in Serie A this season. One event that looks almost certain to happen in this game is Milan scoring. They have scored at least twice in their last 15 league matches and 24 of the last 25. Home form this season has seen them win three but draw three with over 2.5 goals in four of the last five. They have won three of their last four home league games against Lazio, though the other one was a home loss to them last season.

Lazio are eighth in the table, three points behind the final Champions League qualifying position and ten behind their opponents. Sunday's game saw them end a run of three games without a win as they beat Napoli 2-0 at home. They do need to improve their form if wanting another top four finish. Only two of their last six league games have ended in victory. That kind of form won't see them getting anywhere near Bayern Munich when they meet in the last sixteen of the Champions League. Away form has seen them earn ten points from the last four league fixtures. However, it's always important to look  at who a team has been beating. Their last three away league victories have all been earned against sides currently in the bottom four, this is a lot tougher. Milan can win this game to ensure they are top at Christmas.
