AC Milan go into this game a point clear at the top of Serie A. They host defending champions Juventus who are in fifth but ten points behind Milan with a game in hand. Milan began the new year with a 2-0 win at Benevento to remain one point ahead of Inter. The win was their third in a row in Serie A and after 15 league matches, they are still undefeated. Milan haven't lost in any of their last 27 games in Serie A, since a loss to Genoa in March of last year. They have won four of their seven home league fixtures but three of their last five have ended in draws. Milan had that famous home win over Juventus last season, coming from 2-0 down to win 4-2 with all their goals coming in the second half. Four of the last five Milan home league fixtures have seen both teams score. That stat has come up in nine of their last 11 league games.

Juventus dare not lose this game if they want to retain their tltle. Going 13 points behind Milan would be an absolute disaster for them. A win would see the gap down to seven points with a game in hand which looks a heck of a lot better. Juventus started 2021 with a 4-1 home win over Udinese with two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo. They needed that after ending last year with a 3-0 home loss to Fiorentina. That was their first league loss of the season but six draws are proving costly. Away from home, Juventus have had three league victories but all against sides in the bottom five. There have been disappointing draws at botttom-of-the-table Crotone and Benevento, games Juventus would normally win. This is a massive month for Juventus with three games against Milan, Sassuolo and Inter. Anything but good results will see their title hopes in tatters. A bet on both teams to score in this match looks the one to make.
