France bid to make it two wins in a row in this season's Six Nations. They begin the weekend in fourth place with the visitors bottom of the table. France got off to a poor start in the 2024 Six Nations with a 38-17 home loss to Ireland who currently lead the championship. They got back into winning ways with a win at Scotland but had to come from behind to do so. A late disallowed Scottish try should have been given but France returned home with a 20-16 win. They have three games remaining and after this home game against Italy, they are away at Wales and then end with a home game against England. It may be that second place is the best they can achieve this season. After Saturday's matches they are 11 points behind leaders Ireland and five adrift of second placed Scotland. France have won their last 14 games against the Italian side. The most recent match was in last year's Rugby World Cup with a 60-7 win on home soil. You have to go back to 1997 for the last time Italy won in France.

The Italians are bottom of the table and it looks between them and Wales for the wooden spoon. They continually finish bottom of the Six Nations and had a disastrous Rugby World Cup, failing to get our of their pool. A promising start was made to this latest Six Nations campaign and they led England at home before losing 27-24. It was more of a struggle away to Ireland and they lost 36-0. The Italians have lost their last four matches and all but one of their last 22 Six Nations fixtures. We tip France to win this and overcome a handicap of -24.5 points.
