ATP Kitzbühel: What To Expect From The Austrian Tournament
by Geoffrey Ejiga

Alexander Bulbik Emerges Tournament Favorite
Mario Berettini, winner of the tournament in 2024, will not defend his title due to an injury. As a result, the best online betting sites have installed Alexander Bulbik as the favorite.
Bulbik has won 72% of his first-serve points and 84% of his service games, as of July 2025. The 28-year-old is also heading into the competition with outstanding confidence, having won the Halle trophy in June.
On top of that, we also saw Bulbik cruise to an incredible Gstaad debut last week, defeating his fellow countryman Alexander Shevchenko 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets and securing a ticket in the quarterfinal.
Round one of the Generali Open sees Alexander Shevchenko takes on Daniel Elahi Galan. See what our experts think in the Alexander Shevchenko vs Elahi Galan and prediction.
Sebastián Báez Has Eyes on Another Prize
Sebastian Baez is the current no.2 seed and one of the most battle-tested players on clay.
Despite being 37th in the latest ATP rankings, the Argentinian enters this tournament having won the Generali Open in 2022, while adding two more clay titles in 2024 and 2025.
Baez may not be the clear favorite to win this ATP title, but his deadly serve and strong baseline game make him a dangerous contender. If he can find his rhythm early in the games, who knows he could repeat his 2022 run and light a second Kitzubel trophy.
Roberto Bautista Agut Will Be a Problem for Contenders
While Alexander Bublik is the clear favorite given his current form, past champion Roberto Bautista Agut is a player who cannot be written off just yet.
Bautista Agut is in position 54 in the live ATP rankings, and his most pleasing result recently was a 6-3, 6-7 (6) (10-8) win against former world no.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas during the opening Hopman Cup draw. However, after his first-round exit at Wimbledon, all the pressure will be on the Spaniard to bounce back.
Underdogs Who Could Shake Up The Tournament
If these tennis stars fluff their lines, there are a few other players to keep your eye on. Starting with Pedro Martinez, who is the fifth seed and drawn in the same quarter as Baez.
Pedro's only clay title came three years ago, but notably, he made it to the last eight at the Generali Open last year. Based on his current form, he could as well be a dark horse in this year's event.
Another name capable of shaking up the Generali Open draw is Nicolás Jarry. The Chilean enters the tournament as an unseeded wildcard, but he has the kind of firepower that clay specialists dread.
Earlier this year, Jarry earned his flowers with a resurgence at Wimbledon, where he came from two sets down to eliminate eighth seed Holger Rune in the first round. Jarry followed it up with a rather straightforward win over Learner Tien and a thrilling ATP head-to-head victory over João Fonseca.
