Fenerbahce have managed to rise from the relegation region in their domestic league back in Turkey and they will be seeking to mark the rise by booking a place in the quarter finals of the Europa League when they tour Russia. They know it will not be an easy outing but difficulty is what they have encountered this season, having to fight in the red zone just months after challenging for the Super Lig title. Zenit’s main undoing remains the fact that they have not played a lot of competitive matches in the last two months and in their last four competitive ones, they have picked four losses. They have suffered back to back losses in the Europa League but before then they were on a five – game unbeaten streak in the competition. They however have an unblemished home form in the last five matches in the competition, winning all, and are unbeaten in the Europa League at home in their last 11 matches. In 51 home matches in the Europa League, Zenit have lost just two. Fenerbahce take a patchy run in the Europa League in Russia, having won just three of their last 10 Europa League matches. They have no win in the last four away matches in the competition and only three away wins in the last 12.
