Wycombe Wanderers vs Stockport County FC Prediction & Betting Tips - League One

The final day of the season in League One sees a real battle of the top four as fourth-placed Wycombe Wanderers host third-placed Stockport County. The Chairboys need a win to finish third, as do the visiting County, but a draw could see Charlton leapfrog both with a huge win against Burton in their game. Will our match prediction back either team to land the win, or will both managers be cagey with the playoffs looming?

Both of these teams have an almost identical record in League One this season, with 45 games played. Both have amassed 84 points, both have scored 69 league goals, but Stockport County have conceded one fewer (41) to lie third compared to fourth-placed Wycombe (42 goals conceded). 

Strangely, if Charlton can win by seven goals, and this game ends in a draw, the Addicks would go third, which means that these two teams would face each other once again in the playoff semi-finals. However, that is unlikely.

Coming into this game, Stockport are unbeaten in seven, having won six, including their last two, both at home: a 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town followed by a 3-2 win over Lincoln City last week.

Wycombe have stuttered of late, seeing their promotion hopes go up in smoke with two successive defeats. A damaging 4-0 defeat at home to Charlton was then followed last week by a 1-0 loss away to Leyton Orient.
