Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first loss of the season in Portugal, against Pacos Ferreira in the Europa Conference League on Thursday and will hope to recover when they travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers in Week 2 of the Premier League. Wolverhampton Wanderers opened their season with an away loss to Leicester City, making it three losses in their last five matches. It hasn’t been a good ride for them in the recent matches; they have one clean sheet in 10 matches and seven losses. They’ve failed to score in five of their last 10 matches, including in the last two, which have ended in losses. Seven of their last 10 matches have produced under 2.5 goals and in Premier League action, they’ve lost each of the last four matches, while failing to score in three of them. Mexican forward Raul Jimenez is back in the fold after spending most of last season out with a head injury. He featured in the loss to Leicester and should give Wolves extra options in attack.

Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo knows Wolves well, having just left there at the end of last season. He will be keen to mark his return there with a win, and it will be interesting to see how he plans out his game, with his knowledge of the opponent. He opted for a second string side and lost 1-0 to Pacos Ferreira, and will be reverting to his first team players for the Wolves game, and Harry Kane could feature in that, if only for his final game. In their last league game, Spurs outclassed champions Manchester City 1-0 courtesy of Heung-min Son’s goal. That was their second clean sheet in three matches and they’ve scored in nine of their last 10. In those 10 matches, they’ve scored two or more in five. They are on a run of six wins in 10 matches, and have lost just two. Each of their last three matches has produced under 2.5 goals and away from home, they have three wins, one loss in six. Spurs have scored in each of their last five league matches, winning three and losing two.
