After a 38 year absence from European football, Wolves fans might have been dreaming of a more glamorous game than a meeting with Northern dIrish side Crusaders. A seventh place finish in their first season back in the English Premier League secured a place in this competition. They will be hoping that participation in the Europa League won't cause havoc to their Premier League campaign as both Burnley and Everton have discovered in recent years. Wolves had good home form last season winning ten of their 19 league games. They are unbeaten in their last four home games in European competition. The last defeat was in 1971-72 in the two-legged UEFA Cup final against Tottenham.
Crusaders defeated TB Torshavn in the first qualifying round. They won the first leg 2-0 at home and then were victorious 3-2 in the second leg after being pegged back to 2-2. That win was the first tie they have won in European football since the 2015-16 season. Their previous seven away European games had seen them draw two and lose five with 25 goals conceded. Only two out of 22 away games in European competiton have been won. Wolves should be able to get a comfortable win here and can lead at both half and full time.
