West Ham vs Wolves Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

West Ham United were unlucky not to register points from their opening two matches of the Premier League and will be making a stab at it when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers in Week 3. Going to the match, Wolves are 12th on three points, with both sides having played two matches. West Ham got some reprieve in midweek with a 5-1 win over Hull City and will be hoping to carry that form to this clash. In their last league game, The Hammers were a good match to Arsenal but the Gunners won it late on after periods of pressure from West Ham. David Moyes’ side will want to take encouragement from the performance at the Emirates Stadium as well as the win over Hull City. West Ham finished last season on a low, and haven’t started the 2020/21 league campaign well; they have no win in their last four league matches, while their last 15 games in the league have four wins and eight losses for The Hammers. Their problems run deeper – the team has one clean sheet in the last 20 league matches and with just six wins in 20 league matches at home, they will be hoping for a better game here.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, under Nuno Esprito Santos, seems to have coined the formula to deal with West Ham. Since promotion in 2018, Wolves have not lost to West Ham. In the four matches between them, Wolves have four wins, and have not conceded a goal. Wolves have also scored two or more in each of the last three meetings with West Ham and having not had a midweek game, they will be fresher as they head to this game. The last two matches have ended in defeat for Wolves; first it was the humiliating defeat by Stoke City in the Carabao Cup then after a big fight, they fell 3-1 to Manchester City. Wolves will take a lot of encouragement from their performance against City as they seek their second win of the season and with eight wins in 15 league games, they will be favorites here. To be able to dominate West Ham, they will however need to tighten their defence after a series of blunders in there cost them against City. They have won in each of their last two visits here and with a run of five wins in the last nine away league matches, Wolves will have the psychological edge in this game.
