Manchester City are very close to bagging the Premier League title; they need just four more points and they will be home. They will be targeting three when they travel to London to face West Ham United in their next league game. Going into that game, City have 89 points at the top of the standings while West Ham United are seventh on 55 points. West Ham United’s hopes to qualify for next season’s Champions League were ended on both fronts as they got eliminated from the Europa League and dropped points in the league. Their best bet now can be to finish in the top six. A dominant display against relegated Norwich in the last game earned them a 4-0 win and a first victory in six matches. Prior to that they had four straight defeats, so this was their first clean sheet in five matches. They’ve however failed to score in just three of the last 10 matches but they have two clean sheets only in 10 matches.

Manchester City are coming from a 5-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers; this was the fourth time in five matches that City have scored four or more goals. They just can’t stop scoring, and each of their last five matches has produced over 3.5 goals. In their current form, winning each of the last five league matches, and taking to this game a run of 10 unbeaten matches, it is hard to see West Ham stopping them. Both teams have scored in three of City’s last five matches and with West Ham seeking a higher finish, the defence is one area of concern for City. They have Ruben Dias, Kyle Walker and John Stones all injured, which leaves them a bit exposed at the back, and Fernandinho, who has recently stepped in, has struggled with pace. However, they have a potent attack, and Kevin De Bruyne just showed it with four goals against Wolves on Wednesday. In the last 12 meetings with West Ham in the league, City are unbeaten.
