West Ham vs Leicester Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Prediction
The top four race in the Premier League could take another interesting twist this weekend, when West Ham United host Leicester City at London Stadium on Sunday. The two sides occupy the Champions League positions at the moment, with hosts West Ham third on 52 points while Leicester are third with 56 points. West Ham are coming from a 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and while they’ve been impressive in attack, there’s a glaring need to tighten things at the back. They’ve scored nine in the last five matches but conceded eight goals. The last two matches give the best indication after losing a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Arsenal before being pushed to a 3-2 win by Wolves, having led 3-0. Their last six league matches have returned only one clean sheet. In the last 15 league matches, West Ham have lost thrice – to Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United. However, they have nine wins in the last 15 league matches, and at home, they are unbeaten in the last four, with three wins therein. The Hammers will have a few issues in this game with key forward Michail Antonio a doubt after suffering what seemed like a hamstring injury in the last game. Declan Rice is still absent while Angelo Ogbonna is not yet match fit.
Leicester are coming from a loss to Manchester City in their last game, their third loss in 15 league matches and the second time they failed to score in 15 league matches. They’ll also have defensive issues to solve, having managed just one clean sheet in the last seven matches. Turkish defender Caglar Söyüncü is in isolation but could feature in this game after missing against City, which would be a big boost. Meanwhile Jamie Vardy will hope he gets back to scoring ways, having failed in the last six league matches. However, with Kelechi Iheanacho holding on well, and James Maddison returning from injury, the major worry won’t be in attack. Leicester have done well away from home in the league, and they head here unbeaten in their last 10, with six wins. In the 15 away league games this season, they have 10 wins and four losses. Harvey Barnes and Cengiz Ünder are the confirmed absentees for this game.

Our West Ham vs Leicester Prediction
Both West Ham United and Leicester City have defensive issues to address, and they may find it hard with key men in defence out. In attack, there’s no question about the wealth of talent there though West Ham will feel a bit short should Antonio fail to make it. Still we expect Jesse Lingard to inspire the hosts and with the quality on both ends, a scoring draw is written all over this game.
