West Ham United want to use their game against Fulham at the London Stadium on Saturday to put breathing room between themselves and the Premier League relegation zone. The Hammers are 14th in the table after taking eight points from their opening seven matches. While the points haul isn't impressive, David Moyes will feel encouraged by how his team have performed in the early weeks of the campaign. They have already taken off of four of the Premier League's top seven clubs from last season. Fulham, fresh off the back of their first win of the league season, are 17th with four points from seven matches. The early-season displays of the newly-promoted side had pundits suggesting that relegation would be inevitable. Shipping ten goals across their first three matches of the season was bound to leave that impression. However, they have since worked hard on plugging holes at the back, conceding four across their subsequent four outings. The most recent display, that aforementioned 2-0 home win over West Brom, saw them register a first clean sheet. The future is not as bleak for Fulham as Jamie Carragher made it out be.

Keeping West Ham at bay will be hard for Fulham though. They scored at least one goal in their last six Premier League games, breaching the defences of Spurs, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
