West Brom vs Wigan Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Championship leaders West Brom host Wigan this Saturday afternoon. After the midweek fixtures, they have maintained their seven-point advantage over their nearest rivals, Leeds. Wigan, meanwhile, are at the opposite end of the table, 22nd in the table but only in the relegation zone on goal difference. Despite their lowly position, there is cause for optimism around Wigan. A marked improvement has been made in the early part of 2020 with only one loss in their last seven games. Wednesday saw them win 3-0 at Reading, their second win in a row. The upturn in results gives them a chance of survival, even if points at the Hawthorns are unlikely to be up for grabs.

West Brom had a wobble throughout late December and January but they have now recovered. With five wins from their last six matches, they have the look of a team who are certain that promotion is their destiny. Ten points clear of third place, it would take a hell of a wobble to stop The Baggies from gaining automatic promotion. If it can happen anywhere then it would happen in the Championship. Right now though, West Brom are cruising. They've scored at least two goals in their last six matches, no Championship team having a better record in front of goal. At home, there is much to be improved upon, with only eight wins from 17 matches. Underestimating Wigan would be a mistake, as their recent win at Leeds pointed out. Yet it's impossible to review that match without noticing how unlucky Leeds were. West Brom won't let chances pass. They have won their last two home games against Wigan. Expect another home win with a clean sheet.
