A record high 42 positive COVID tests in the last week has caused major complications for a number of Premier League clubs. Watford, the latest victims, had their most recent match against Burnley called off due to an outbreak, leaving the Hornets with an insufficient number of players for the match. With the latest rules appearing to mandate a 10-day isolation period for players who test positive, there is a strong possibility that this match will be delayed as well. The hosts last match, before the postponement, was a disappointing 2-1 collapse against Brentford in which Watford lost the match to an added time penalty. They are dangerously flirting with the relegation zone, with just a slim two point lead over 18th place Burnley who also have a game in hand. Claudio Ranieri’s side desperately need to end their four game losing skid if they want to make their case for surviving the drop to the Championship. 

Patrick Viera has done a good job at Palace so far as he looks to infuse some youth into the side. They have a good mix of experienced veterans and promising young players - Connor Gallagher in particular standing out as an exceptional talent. The Eagles have played positive, attractive football but still suffer some inconsistency. They bounced back after three straight defeats with a win against Everton but followed that up with a 2-2 draw at home against Southampton. Palace have only won a single match away from home with three draws and four defeats. They currently sit 11th in the table with 20 points.
