The time when Watford were in the top four of the English Premier League with a 100% record are long forgotten. Since then their form has become inconsistent but they so nearly won at Everton on Monday. Only a brilliant late free-kick denied them a first league win since October. They have lost four of their last five home league games but those losses all came against sides currently in the top eight. The other game was a comfortable win over Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City at home is a much more winnable fixture.

That's despite the recent improved form of the Welsh side that has seen them climb to 14th in the table. It's home form that has seen them achieve that with four wins out of five and that's compared to one point in seven away league matches. They have only scored three goals and conceded 15. They may only be two places behind Watford but there's a seven-point gap between the two sides. Watford put on a decent performance on Monday and can get three points here.
