Wales will return to the competitive scene with a home game against Turkey in the Nations League. The two nations meet in Group B4 which also has Iceland and Montenegro. Read on for our prediction of this match.
In 2024, Wales managed just one win in four matches. The past few months haven't been great for them, the team failing to score in the last three matches.
In the Euro 2024 playoffs, they lost on penalties to Poland, Wales then drew 0-0 with Gibraltar in a friendly and fell 4-0 to Slovakia in their latest game. This run left them with one win in their last six matches.
Craig Bellamy’s side finished bottom of their group in League A last season, thus got relegated. Coming here, they have no win in the last six Nations League matches, losing five.
Turkey have enjoyed a number of highs in their recent outings. They are coming from the 2024 European Championship where they went all the way to the quarter-finals. This performance at the Euros did a lot in returning the confidence to Vincenzo Montella’s side after earlier struggling.
Now they are on three wins in their last five matches, having beaten Georgia, Austria and the Czech Republic in Germany. The visitors only failed to score once in their five matches at the Euro finals – against Portugal.
Turkey booked their place here courtesy of finishing top of their group in League C last season. Having beaten Wales in two of their last four meetings, they will be confident of a good start in League B.
