South Africa will look to maintain their perfect run as they round off their November Internationals against Wales on Saturday. Can the World No. 1, sitting 10 places above Wales, defeat their hosts in Cardiff? Read on as we dive into the details and our predictions.
South Africa have consolidated their position at the top of the World Rugby rankings following a hugely successful end-of-the-year campaign. Off the back of their history-making Rugby Championship triumph, the Springboks have rampaged through their November Internationals to extend their lead to the top. European opposition hasn't been separated in this dominant display with France, Italy, and Ireland all brushed aside by impressive margins. They will look to sustain this terrific momentum on Saturday.
Conversely, Wales have yet to find their footing after a disappointing Six Nations campaign and taking on South Africa will be an even tougher test. This will be their ninth meeting with the five-time and reigning world champions since 2021, seven of which ended in defeat. Can they rewrite this narrative in this highly anticipated matchup?

Wales - South Africa: Form Analysis
After a narrow one-point victory over Japan, Wales suffered a heavy home loss to World No. 2 New Zealand in their last game. They trailed by double digits in both halves, and ultimately collapsed to a 52-26 defeat against the All Blacks. Steve Tandy's side have alternated between wins and losses in their five Tests after the Six Nations (W2, L3).
Overall, they have lost 11 of their last 13 Tests. This dismal run of form includes an ugly-looking nine-match losing streak which ended with a nine-point victory over Japan in July. They have also lost 10 of their last 11 home Tests.
South Africa have won their last four Tests against Wales by double-digit margins
After a history-making Rugby Championship campaign, South Africa are in the form of their lives. They opened their November Internationals with a blowout victory over Japan and have brushed aside European Rugby heavyweights in their tour of the continent. The most recent of which was a 24-13 victory over Ireland in Dublin last weekend.
Notably, Rassie Erasmus' side head into this clash off the back of an impressive seven-game winning streak. These include wide-margins victories in their last four away matches (excluding the Rugby Championship clash with Argentina in London).

Wales & South Africa Squad Analysis
Wales will parade a hugely depleted and inexperienced side against South Africa due to the absence of their regular internationals, who have left for their clubs. Uncapped Garyn Phillips has been called up to the squad and will partner Gareth Thomas in the front-row. Ben Carter and Rhys Davies are the new lock combination.
Steve Tandy will also miss the finishing prowess of Tom Rogers, who scored a hat-trick against New Zealand, due to a hamstring blow. Captain Jac Morgan is also out with injury, with Dewi Lake lined up to take the armband.
Scrumhalf Cobus Reinach is set to make his 50th appearance for South Africa against Wales
Rassie Erasmus has also made significant changes to the squad that faced Ireland in Dublin to cover the gaps left by players who have returned to their clubs. Hooker Johan Grobbelaar will earn his first Test start for the Springboks, partnering Wilco Louw and Gerhard Steenekamp in the front-row.
Lock Jean Kleyn has been lined up to fill the gap left by Lood de Jager and RG Snyman, while Morne van den Berg starts at half-back. Fly-half Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who scored a try and a conversion goal against Ireland, has been retained and will take up more responsibility in the backline with Handré Pollard and Manie Libbok out.
Wales - South Africa Key Points

Our Wales vs South Africa Prediction
South Africa will be eyeing a clean sweep of their four-match tour of Europe. After dispatching France, Italy, and most recently, Ireland, lower-ranked Wales are not likely to pose a challenge for Rassie Erasmus' side. It's not even a question of their chances in the game, but of the winning margin.
The reigning world champions have been on a terrific ride, securing dominant victories after their Rugby Championship triumph, while Wales' struggles have continued. We are backing them for a dominant victory. Our Wales vs South Africa prediction is South Africa -34.5 handicap points.
