Last weekend was another disappointing one for Welsh rugby. Wales were beaten 54-12 at home by France to leave them bottom of the Six Nations table. This weekend the Welsh Dragons are home to second placed Scotland. Time for our match prediction.
Wales have already conceded over 100 points in just two matches in this season's Six Nations. The losses keep on coming for the Welsh side but there were some encouraging signs among all the mistakes in their loss to France. A closer match would be a start for the struggling Welsh team.
Scotland are second in the table after they beat England to regain the Calcutta Cup. As you will read in the form section of this preview, it's already been an up-and-down Six Nations for Scotland. With France not playing until Sunday, Scotland can go top of the table with a bonus point victory in Cardiff this Saturday. Can they get another win this weekend or will we see a Welsh revival?

Wales - Scotland: Form Analysis
The past two Six Nations tournaments have seen Wales 'win' the wooden spoon. Both times they lost all five of their games and again they are struggling. Two games have been lost with just 19 points scored and 102 conceded.
Maybe this time?
Not since a win in Italy three years ago have they won in the Six Nations. It's 2022 when they last won a home Six Nations fixture and it was Scotland who they beat on that occasion. Scotland have won their last three matches against Wales.
Scotland began the 2026 Six Nations tournament with a disappointing loss in Italy. They bounced back in style last weekend with a home victory over England. That victory took them up to second place, four points behind France but with a points difference of +8 compared to France's +64.
The visitors lost both of their away games in last year's Six Nations. Their Autumn International results were mixed with big wins over USA and Tonga but home losses to New Zealand and Argentina

Wales & Scotland Squad Analysis
Scotland will want to build some momentum after last weekend's big win over England. Only once since 2024 have they won two successive test matches but they will see this as a great opportunity to do so.
Duhan van der Merwe and Blair Kinghorn have been named as backs for this game in Cardiff. The former is Scotland's record try scorer so his inclusion is probably not what Wales want to hear.
Strong bench for Scotland.
Five changes in all have been made to the Scottish side. With a strong replacements bench named, there's going to be even more pressure on Wales if they were to get themselves into a winning position on Saturday.
Wales have a -83 points difference after their first two games. Even if they do suffer a third straight loss, the Welsh team will want to be more competitive than they were against England and France.
Gabriel Hamer-Webb will be making his debut for Wales this weekend. Four changes have been made from the starting line-up that faced France. Taine Plumtree and Sam Costelow (both Scarlets players) come into the side as well as Ben Carter at lock.
Wales - Scotland Key Points

Our Wales vs Scotland Prediction
179 points have been scored against Wales in their last three home games. There are some appalling statistics that can be written about the Welsh side as they seem to slump from one crisis to another.
Scotland lost in Italy on the opening week of this Six Nations tournament. Many expected them to lose to in-form England last weekend but they pulled out an excellent victory. Wales will put up a fight but our Wales v Scotland prediction is Scotland wins on a -17.5 handicap.
