Wales are already bottom of the Six Nations table after the first set of fixtures. The Welsh Dragons were heavily beaten last week by England and face another long afternoon this Sunday as they host third-placed France. Time for our match prediction.
Both 2024 and 2025 saw Wales finish bottom of the Six Nations and 'win' the wooden spoon. It's heartbreaking for a nation that has achieved so much in rugby in the past. Little improvement has been made by them in the past 12 months and they will do well to avoid finishing in bottom place this time around.
Les Bleus are the defending Six Nations champions and began well last weekend. In the opening match of this year's tournament, they beat Ireland at home 36-14. With three of their five matches this year being played in Paris, they are again in a good position to win the title. After England's loss on Saturday, France are a point behind leaders Scotland with a game in hand. A win with a bonus point in Cardiff will take them four points clear at the top of the table.

Wales - France: Form Analysis
Wales were beaten 48-7 at Twickenham last weekend. That was the 22nd defeat they have suffered in their last 24 test matches. There's a whole collection of depressing statistics that can be written about the Welsh Dragons.
They have finished bottom of the Six Nations for the past two years. Both of those championships saw Wales lose all five of their matches and last year they conceded 195 points. Their last Six Nations win was an away victory in Italy three years ago.
Long wait for a Six Nations victory.
You have to go back to 2022 for their last home Six Nations victory, a 20-17 win over Scotland. Their last seven games against France have all been lost. Last year saw them beaten 43-0 in Paris. No wonder they are having problems selling tickets for this game.
France won last year's Six Nations title. Les Bleus won four of their five matches with the only loss being by a single point away to England. They beat Ireland 36-14 in their opening Six Nations fixture and didn't even concede a point in the first half.
They have scored over 40 points in their last two games against Wales and won 45-23 on their last visit to Cardiff. The win over Ireland made it three wins in a row since losing at home to South Africa last November.

Wales & France Squad Analysis
After a miserable opening defeat at Twickenham, Wales have made four changes for the visit of France on Sunday. The despairing Welsh fans aren't too hopeful the changes will make a great deal of difference and another heavy loss is on its way.
Olly Cracknell and Joe Hawkins come into the starting line-up. Props Tomas Francis and Rhys Carre will also start the match as Wales try to get a first Six Nations win since 2023. Aaron Wainwright is being switched to blind-side flanker.
Wales pack the bench with forwards.
There are five forwards on the bench and Wales will hope that by the time they come onto the field of play, they are still in with a chance of getting something from this match against France but that does look unlikely if the visitors repeat last weekend's first half performance.
France are giving a debut to centre Fabien Brau-Boirie for the trip to Cardiff. The 20-year-old will want to repeat the form he has shown in Top 14 this season, scoring nine tries for Section Paloise.
He's one of two changes to last weekend's starting line-up. Emilien Gailleton (who scored a try against Wales last season) also comes in as France will be without the injured pair of Nicolas Depoortere and Yoram Moefana.
Thibaud Flament was unavailable last weekend but is on the replacements bench for this match.

Our Wales vs France Prediction
Another depressing afternoon is expected for Wales this weekend. It says everything about the current state of Welsh rugby when there are thousands of tickets still unsold for this game. It's not too surprising considering they lost their last home game 73-0 to South Africa.
They will hope for a much closer result this weekend but they've only managed to win tests against Japan since the 2023 World Cup. France are the reigning champions and beat Ireland last weekend. Our Wales v France prediction is France wins on a -27.5 handicap.
