Fight Night returns to the UFC APEX this weekend, and before the main event of the evening, we will see Waldo Cortes-Acosta taking on Ante Delija in the heavyweight division. Salsa Boy has a pro record of 14-2-0, while Walking Trouble is 26-6-0. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Waldo Cortes-Acosta will be making his return to the ring for the first time since August last year, when he suffered his second defeat in the UFC, losing to Sergei Pavlovich by unanimous decision.
Prior to that loss, Salsa Boy was riding a five-match win streak, which included KO/TKO wins over Ryan Spann and Lukasz Brzeski. He also outlasted Serghei Spivac at UFC 316.
Cortes-Acosta has never won a fight by submission in the UFC, and that could be where his downfall may lie. However, the Dominican does have the weight advantage in this bout.
Meanwhile, after proving himself as one of the best heavyweights in the PFL, Ante Delija finally got his shot in the UFC and grabbed it with both hands by knocking out Marcin Tybura last September.
Considering the disappointment at UFC 321 last weekend, a victory here for Walking Trouble could earn him a top-five fight. Durability at 35, though, is arguably the biggest question mark for Delija.
The Croatian is the better grappler, with six of his career wins coming by way of submission. He also faced much tougher opposition in the PFL than Waldo has taken on over the last few years.

Our Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs Ante Delija Prediction
For Waldo Cortes-Acosta, this represents a huge opportunity to make headway in the heavyweight division after a very poor showing against Sergei Pavlovich, which ended his five-match win streak.
However, Ante Delija is certainly no pushover and has plenty of experience at this level. He is also the training partner of current champion Tom Aspinall, and if he can successfully take down the Dominican, we feel Walking Trouble will get the win in this one. Our Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs Ante Delija prediction is Ante Delija wins.
