Vitoria de Guimaraes had a struggle in the first leg of this Europa League second qualifying round tie. It looked as if the game was going to end goalless but in the 94th minute Joseph Amoah scored the winning goal to put the Portuguese team in a strong position. They have won their last four games and at home have only one loss in the last ten. Form in Europe has seen them win one and draw two of their last three home matches played in the Europa League. Last season saw them in the group stages of the Europa League but fail to reach the last 32.

Jeunesse Esch really struggled to get past the first qualifying round. They were held to a goalless draw at home by Tobol, then went a goal down in the second leg.
