It's been a successful season for Villarreal and their current fifth place in La Liga qualifies them for next season's Europa League. They are ten points off the Champions League places but level on points with sixth placed Betis who are away at struggling Leganes so could drop down a place. Not a great deal to play for then but the visit of Real Madrid is always a special day. Villarreal have only lost one of their last six league games and that was a 5-1 loss away at champions Barcelona. Home form has seen them win their last three league games but they have lost on five occasions this season on home territory, They are actually looking to get a rare league double over Real, having won the reverse fixture 1-0.

Real Madrid are third in the table after a disappointing La Liga campaign but could yet finish second but need to win here and see Atletico lose at home to Eibar. Their minds are certain to be on the upcoming Champions League final against Liverpool and that could see them fielding a weakened side as was the case in the recent defeat at Sevilla so it might be an idea to leave your bets till the teams have been announced. Real did win 6-0 at home to Celta Vigo last weekend and that's without Ronaldo who is being kept on the sidelines till the big cup final. Real haven't won either of their last two league games and the suggested bet here is a double chance on Villarreal.
