VfL Wolfsburg vs Arsenal Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League W.

Wolfsburg host Arsenal in the first leg of this Women's Champions League semi-final. The home side have won this competition twice but not since 2014. Their last appearance in the final was three years ago, the third of three finals they've lost since last lifting the trophy.  Whoever wins this semi-final will take on either Barcelona or Chelsea in the final with the Spaniards winning their away first leg 1-0. The German side are in a tight battle with Bayern Munich in their domestic league trailing the leaders by just one point. Wolfsburg have won their last three games, scoring 17 goals and not coneceding any. This is a far tougher task but the Germans are unbeaten in their last nine Women's Champions League games since losing at Barcelona last season. The 2022/23 Women's Champions League has seen Wolfsburg win their group (by a point from Roma) and then defeat PSG in the last eight 2-1 on aggregate. The away first leg was won 1-0 with the return match in Germany drawn 1-1. That made it two successive home draws in this competition but they are unbeaten in that includes a 2-0 win over Arsenal last season.

The visitors are third in their domestic league and saw their title hopes fade with a 1-0 loss at Manchester United in midweek. That was their second major away loss in their last four matches. The other was in the first leg of their Women's Champions League quarter final, when going down 1-0 at Bayern Munich. That's the only away game that Arsenal have lost in this season's competition. Away form at present though is a big worry for them with just one win in the last six and four defeats. We go for Wolfsburg to get the win here but it may well be by a margin that still gives Arsenal a chance to turn the tie around at the Emirates.
