Valentin Vacherot vs Luca Van Assche Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Lyon Open

Round two of the indoor hard court Grand Prix Auvergne in Lyon will see third seed Valentin Vacherot take on unseeded Luca Van Assche. Vacherot was 15 places above his opponent in the latest ranking list. Van Assche had lost his last three matches before his first round victory and our prediction here is Vacherot wins.

In the last eight, the winner will face either sixth seed Lorenzo Musetti or wild card Moise Kouame.

Valentin Vacherot slipped down to 33rd in the rankings after failing to retain his Shanghai Masters title won in 2025. He lost in the third round this year to Tommy Paul.

Before that, he had made it to the last four in Tokyo's outdoor hard court tournament.

On this surface, Vacherot has won all four of his matches played in 2026. All of have come in the Davis Cup, including a win over Alexander Bublik.

Luca Van Assche has a 13-1 indoor hard court record this year. His success has come on the Challenger Tour with two titles won in February.

He had been beaten in four of his last five matches, before a return to this surface saw him beat Clement Tabur in straight sets with the first going to a tie-break.
