Valencia are fourth in La Liga and lost 2-1 at the weekend away to Barcelona. That defeat saw them drop a place in the table being leapfrogged by Real Madrd and there are just two points between the two sides in the battle for third place. The loss at Barcelona on Saturday ended a run of nine games without defeat since a previous loss to the league leaders that ended their Copa del Rey campaign and they had won their five previous league games. Home form for Valencia is strong this season in La Liga with 12 wins, two draws and two defeats and their last five have all been won since a loss to Real Madrid in late January.
Their opponents are down in tenth place in La Liga but only six points off the final Europa League qualification place. They are struggliing for form though and their weekend win over Espanyol ended a run of four defeats in their last five league games. They did well to hang on for that 1-0 win at the weekend as they had to play the last 29 minutes with just ten men. They have won just two away league games all season, drawiing six and losing seven and have just a win at Real Sociedad in their last 13 away league games. This looks booked for Valencia to get back in winning ways and get a home win against Getafe
