Valencia vs Chelsea Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League

Third placed Valencia host Chelsea in Group H of the Champions League. The Spanish side are level on points with Chelsea who are second but they have the advantage on them after winning the reverse fixture. Valencia are guaranteed a place in the Europa League but their opponents are because they could yet finish bottom of the group. That would change if Chelsea were to win this match and wipe out that reverse fixture advantage. Valencia won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge but since then have earned four points against bottom of the table Lille and lost 3-0 to Ajax. They lost at Real Betis at the weekend but that ended a run of four games unbeaten. Three of their last four home games have been won and that same stat is applicable to their Champions League record too.

Chelsea had to fight back to get a point against Ajax in the last group match. They are second behind the Dutch team but a loss here will put them in danger of not qualifying for the knock-out stages. Their last game is home to Lille though which they should be capable of winning. The danger is that if Ajax beat Lille this week, then the Dutch side could just draw with Valencia and that would knock Chelsea out. The Londoners lost to Manchester City at the weekend and have only won two of their last five games. They did win at Ajax so it's not out of the question that they can win this game. A bet on both teams to score looks the safest bet to make in this game.
