It's already been a big week for Atletico Madrid as they added the European Super Cup to the Europa League they won last season. A 4-2 win after extra time over Real Madrid will have boosted the confidence of the club that finished second in La Liga last season though they were 14 points behind champions Barcelona. Away form last season saw Atletico win 11 league games, draw four and lose four with only 42 goals scored iin those 19 matches and 12 of their away league games had under 2.5 goals scored in them. Against Valencia last season they won 1-0 at home and drew 0-0 at Valencia.

The home side in this game did well to finish fourth in the table and were only six points behind second placed Atletico. They won 13 out of their 19 home league games last season losing just three. It was a good job they had built up a big lead over fifth placed Villarreal as they had a disappointing end to the season with only two wins in their last seven league games.  Pre-season got off to a slow start but they had wins over Everton and Bayer Leverkusen in their last two to get them ready for this new season. Valencia have only won one of their last 11 against Atletico and the tip here is to go for the away win.
