Uruguay vs Sweden Prediction & Betting Tips - Handball World Championship

Co-hosts Sweden are already assured of their place in the 2023 Men's World Handball Championships main round. They lead the group by two points from Brazil and Cape Verde with Uruguay bottom of the group and now having to face Sweden. It's possible Sweden might rest some players for this game. They have won the group and with Uruguay off to the President's Cup a win over them won't see the points carried into the main round. The Swedes have a strong squad though and even without some top players can get a win over the South American nation. Sweden have so far had two comfortable wins in this group beating Brazil by eight points and Cape Verde by a seven-goal margin. The current European champions have now only lost two of their last 16 matches, one against world champions Denmark.

As was expected it's been a tough world championships for Uruguay. This is only their second time in the world championship finals but unlike in 2021, they're not going to be in the main round. Two years ago, Uruguay only won one match out of six played. That one preliminary round win was enough to take them into the main round but they didn't actually play a match. Cape Verde couldn't field a team due to COVID-19 so their match was rewarded to Uruguay 10-0. Not bad considering they'd conceded 87 goals in their first two games and another 105 were put past them in the main round. There's been no such 'luck' this time and two matches against Cape Verde and Brazil have seen them concede 68 goals. More can be expected in this final match.
