Tour de France - Stage 19 Predictions & Betting tips - Tour de France
by Matthew Newman |
Stage 19 of the Tour de France is the final day in the mountains and also the shortest of the 19 non-time trial stages. It is the last chance for a big change in the general classification positions, but will it be a day for the main players or a break? Read on for our prediction.
The peloton was blown apart by the pace of Team Visma on the Madeleine yesterday as Jonas Vingegaard's squad did everything they could to crack Tadej Pogacar. It was earlier than expected on the stage, which raises the question of what they will have in their legs for Stage 19. Pogacar only has to follow here to land the overall race win.
Oscar Onley looks sure to attack, given he is one step away from a podium place, so expect to see the young Brit pushing on late. Florian Lipowitz and Primoz Roglic are the other two in with any chance of third place, and Roglic would need a monster performance.
Those who could be on the attack who didn't push on strongly yesterday include the likes of Ben Healy, who didn't fight too hard to get back involved when dropped on the Madelaine. Guillarme Martin has been active in the breaks as well and was well down the field on Thursday, so, along with Ilan Van Wilder, Xandro Maeurisse and Gregor Muhlberger are all respected.

Our Tour de France - Stage 19 - Tour de France prediction
The final big stage in the Tour, and it could be another where those who are out of contention of overall glory will be allowed enough rope out front to be able to keep things going all the way to the line.
While he might want to win another stage, there is no need for Tadej Pogacar to do anything more on this stage than keep on the wheel of Jonas Vingegaard. One of the most attacking riders so far in this race has been Ben Healy, and he looks the way to go. Our Tour de France Stage 19 prediction is Ben Healy each way.
