Tottenham vs Liverpool Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League at the start of this new set of fixtures. They look to climb in to the Champions League places with a win over out-of-form Liverpool who are a place above them. Liverpool could be ten points behind the league leaders by the time this game begins. It's extremely likely that Manchester United will beat bottom side Sheffileld United earlier in the week. That puts the pressire on Liverpool who continue to have a tough fixture list just at the wrong time. After a couple of games against the league leaders, of their next six league matches only one is against a side currently not in the top seven. If they don't start winning again soon, it'll be a bid to get into the Champions League, not successfully defending their title that is their season target. Almost unbelievably, a form guide for the last five league games has Liverpool down in 17th place with just three points. They aren't conceding many (two in the last six) but have only scored once themselves in the last five and not at all in the last four. Away form is nowhere near what it was when winning the title last season, just two away league victories. That's the 13th best away record in the Premier League. Mo Salah scored twice in their FA Cup defeat at the weekend. Liverpool can but hope that now he's scored, he'll continue to do so and rescue their season.

Tottenham willl go two points clear of Liverpool if winning this match. Even better, they will still have a game in hand on the Reds. Tottenham will be out for a bit of revenge after losing 2-1 at Anfield last month. December wasn't a great month for them in the Premier League but they come into this game having won two and drawn two of their last four league matches.  They trail United by seven points at the start of this set of games but do have a game in hand. Harry Kane is back in form for them and has scored in each of the last three league fixtures. If Tottenham are to close the gap on the league leaders, their home form needs to improve. Only four of their nine home league games have been won this season. Three times they have given away leads and only ended up drawing the game, champions don't do that. Four of their nine home matches have seen both teams score. Liverpool may be struggling for goals but with Salah scoring again and Tottenham prone to mistakes, a bet on both teams to score is the suggested wager to make.
