Two teams that will have their sights set on upcoming cup finals must first face off for matchday 36 of the English Premier League. Newly-confirmed UEFA Europa League finalists Tottenham host FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace in the final London derby of the season for both clubs. Read on for our match prediction!
It’s been a domestic campaign to forget for Tottenham Hotspur who are languishing in16th place in the league table. Should they fail to improve on that standing in the final three games, it would mark the team’s worst ever finish in the 20-team league era (previously 15th in 1993/94). Luckily for them, they don’t have to worry about any potential relegation scrap as the bottom three have long been confirmed.
Crystal Palace fans will certainly be feeling optimistic regarding manager Oliver Glasner’s first full season in charge. After a slow start, the Eagles were much improved in the second half of the campaign. However, a recent winless league run has seen them drop out of the top half. Palace will be aiming to pick up some momentum before their FA Cup final meeting with Manchester City next weekend.

Tottenham - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis
Tottenham are in dreadful form in the Premier League with just a single win in their last nine, six of which ended in defeats. If it weren’t for their exploits in Europe, this would undoubtedly go down as one of the Lilywhites worst ever seasons.
The hosts’ last result in the league was a 1-1 away draw with West Ham United. Most recently, Spurs defeated Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt 2-0 away from home to secure a 5-1 aggregate victory in the Europa League semi-final.
Interestingly, Tottenham are the only team in the bottom eight that have a positive goal differential at +6. They rank sixth in goals scored (63), but have really struggled on the defensive end of the ball where they’ve allowed 57 goals.
Crystal Palace have been a different side since the start of 2025.
The Eagles stumbled out of the gate in the 2024/25 season but have really turned things around since the turn of the new year.
In the Premier League, Crystal Palace have seven wins, five draws and four defeats in 2025. When including the FA Cup, that record jumps to an impressive 12-5-4.
Palace had to settle for a 1-1 home draw with Nottingham Forest last weekend, a result which extended their unbeaten run to four games across all competitions. However, in the Premier League, Glasner’s side have failed to grab a victory in their last five outings.

Tottenham & Crystal Palace Squad Analysis
Dominic Solanke has scored in four of his last five appearances which includes goals in both legs of Spurs semi-final matchup with Bodo/Glimt. The 27-year-old is listed to have a thigh problem although is expected to be available for this fixture.
Manager Ange Postecoglou will be unable to call upon three players for this London derby, with Lucas Bergvall, James Maddison and Radu Dragusin all out for the remainder of the season.
It will be interesting to see if Postecoglou opts to heavily rotate his squad following the Europa League semi-final, as he did last week when his side faced West Ham.
Brennan Johnson is Tottenham’s highest-scoring player in the PL with 11 goals in 31 league appearances.
Johnson (who came off injured in the UEL second leg) and Heung-Min Son are among the players that are highly likely to be rested as Tottenham look to conserve as many players as possible for the Europa League final.
Crystal Palace have an effective attacking trident of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Eberechi Eze and Ismaila Sarr, who have combined for 26 of the team’s 44 league goals. Mateta, in particular, has been impressive, with the Frenchman needing just two goals to match last season’s tally of 16.
Behind them, Glasner will be without the highly-rated Adam Wharton to anchor the midfield. The 21-year-old came off injured in the draw with Forest last weekend and is sure to miss out in this fixture.

Our Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Prediction
While these two sides will undoubtedly be prioritizing their respective upcoming cup finals, we still believe there is a strong potential for goals in this one. Crystal Palace should come out with their usual starting 11, while Tottenham still have dangerous attacking players such as Tel, Odobert and possibly Solanke.
Matches involving Postecoglou’s Spurs this season have rarely been dull affairs and Palace have the type of attacking players that can cause their opponent’s backline headaches. Back this one to finish at least 2-1 either way. Our Tottenham vs Crystal Palace prediction: both teams to score + over 2.5 goals.
