Tottenham Hotspur recovered from the loss in the North London derby with a 5-1 thrashing of NS Mura in the Europa Conference League and will now target a return to winning ways in the Premier League. They host Aston Villa with just one point separating the sides; Spurs 11th with nine points and Villa eighth with 10 points. Spurs have three straight losses in the league and have conceded nine goals in the process. They will hope Harry Kane carries his form in Europe home, after scoring three in the win over Mura. The hosts have no clean sheet in their last six matches and both teams have scored in four of the six, Spurs conceding at least two in five of them. They’ve failed to score in just one of the last five matches and each of these five games have seen over 2.5 goals. Head to head, this game favors Spurs, having won six of the last seven meetings, but they lost at home the last time they faced Villa.

Aston Villa are well rested, having had no midweek assignments, and go to this game with two straight wins in their league matches. They beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford in their last game and will definitely be high in confidence. In the last five matches, they have just one loss – the 3-0 defeat at Chelsea, which is also the only time they failed to score in five games. Villa however have three clean sheets in five league matches and three wins. Their away run isn’t the best though, having won just four of their last 10 away league matches. Five of their last six away league matches have produced over 2.5 goals and they have just one clean sheet in nine.
