We could well see a seeding upset in this Wimbledon second round match-up. 30th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry is up against unseeded Australian Alexei Popyrin. For the winner of this match, their opponent in the last 32 will be either Novak Djokovic or Jacob Fearnley.

Etcheverry beat Luca Nardi in straight sets in round one, losing only seven games. That victory took him into the second round of this grass court Grand Slam for only the second time. He also got this far last year losing to Stan Wawrinka in four sets.

He's now 32nd in the live rankings and three places above that in the ATP Race. His build-up to these championships was not a good one. He played at both Queen's Club and Eastbourne and lost both of his matches. He's only won three out of ten matches played on this surface.

Alexei Popyrin is in the second round at Wimbledon for the first time since 2019. His last three appearances have all seen him beaten in round one. He played two grass court events in the lead up to this tournament winning three of his five matches.

His two losses were to Tommy Paul and Andy Murray but he did take a set off his opponent in each of those matches. Round one saw him end his bad run at Wimbledon with a four-set win over Thiago Monterio, losing the second. We tip him to win this match.
