The battle for promotion to La Liga will go a notch higher this Monday, when fourth placed Tenerife hosts second placed Almeria in the Segunda División. Tenerife go into the game on 55 points, four behind Almeria. Both sides are on three wins in their last five matches; Tenerife are coming from a 2-1 comeback win over Sporting Gijon, ending a run of two straight losses. They’ve scored in each of their last five matches and in three of them two or more goals while they have just two clean sheets in the last five matches. In Tenerife’s last three matches, both teams have scored and going to this game they will hope to improve on their run against Almeria - they’ve lost in each of the last three meetings. 

Almeria on their part, are winless in the last two matches and will be looking to bounce back. With the best goal difference in the league at this point, and being three points behind leaders Eibar, this game presents a chance to go top. That however, is dependent on Eibar’s performance against Ponferradina. The visitors are coming from a 3-3 draw with Lugo, right after a 2-0 loss to Real Zaragoza. They will hope to improve on that, and the fact that they have just one clean sheet in the last five matches. Almeria have failed to score in just one of their last five matches and this is an area to build on. Nigerian forward Umar Sadiq has been key in this area, scoring six times in the last five matches, and he has two goals in the last three meetings between these teams. Almeria have beaten Tenerife five times in the last six meetings.
