Top seed Taylor Fritz and fourth seed Miomir Kecmanovic will contest the final of the Delray Beach Open on Sunday on an outdoor hard court. The two have met each other four times before and Fritz has won on three occasions though Kecmanovic claimed victory the last time they met one year ago. Fritz has won all his three matches here without dropping a single set and will be the favourite to win on home soil. The American number one is in his 10th career final in the ATP and has won four titles with two being on hard courts. Fritz arrived at Delray after exiting the Dallas Open at the semifinals stage which allowed him to move up to seventh in the ATP ranking which is a new career high for the 25-year-old.
Miomir Kecmanovic started the week ranked 33rd in the world but progressing to only his third ATP tour final has seen him move up to 30th in the live ranking. He defeated former champion Radu Albot in three sets in the semifinals, dropping his first set of the tournament. He hasn’t fared well against Fritz but did win the last time they met in the fourth round at the Miami Open in 2022. The Serbian number 2 has lacked consistency this season and it is the first time that he has won more than two matches in a row.
